Scientific Research
in Collaboration with MV Clasina, Orkney Skate Trust, MARECO, DNA Divers & Edinburgh Napier University.
Tash began working onboard the Clasina in 2021, initially and contributed to citizen science, focused on Elasmobranchs in Scotland. During this time, collected BRUV (Baited Remote Underwater Video) data from remote sites accessed by the boat. She is now pursuing an MRes at Edinburgh Napier University, using this data—alongside contributions from other research teams—to look further at the distribution of flapper skate (Dipturs intermedius) in Orkney.
Clasina
The boat runs trips across Scotland and Norway. Destinations include: Scapa Flow, the Sound of Mull, the outliers, St Kilda and many more.
